ABOUT SLOAN & FINN
ANIMAL RESCUE.

We’re Haley and Brian, the proud founders of Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue, which we launched in January 2025 to turn our passion for animals into a mission of hope. With over five years of hands-on experience in animal rescue, we’ve dedicated our lives to giving animals a second chance. Our home is happily shared with four rescue dogs, including two “foster failures” who stole our hearts. We believe every animal deserves love, care, and a place to call home, and we’re honored to be a part of their journey.

My journey began while living in Charlotte, NC, during my college years. It was here that I rescued Rocky Finn from Animal Care and Control, followed shortly by Aspyn Sloan, who was found as a stray. I won’t lie—I didn’t have all the answers back then, but my heart was set on making a difference. In 2019, I welcomed my first foster into my home, and I knew I had found my calling.

After graduating in 2021, I moved to Charleston, SC, where I continued my rescue journey. It was there that I met my partner, Brian, who has been an incredible support throughout this adventure. His belief in our mission was evident when he adopted one of my fosters, Mack, adding to our growing family.

Despite having three dogs already, we continued to foster, and before we knew it, we had foster-failed with Trout, our fourth dog. Even with a bustling household, my commitment to rescue only deepened. I became a team lead at the rescue I loved, guiding others in our shared mission.

Life took some unexpected turns, but with Brian’s encouragement, I took the leap to start my own rescue. And that’s how Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue came to be—a place where every animal matters, and where we strive to create a better future for those in need. Join us in our journey to make a difference, one paw at a time!

OUR VALUES.

Spay and Neuter

Spaying and neutering are essential components of responsible pet ownership that significantly contribute to reducing pet overpopulation. Every year, millions of animals enter shelters, many of which are ultimately euthanized due to a lack of homes. By spaying or neutering your pet, you help prevent unwanted litters and decrease the number of animals in shelters. Additionally, these procedures can lead to healthier pets, reducing the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues. It’s a proactive step that not only benefits individual pets but also helps create a more humane community.

Training Resources

Investing in training for your pet is crucial for fostering good behavior and enhancing the bond between you and your furry friend. Proper training helps prevent common behavioral issues, such as aggression, anxiety, and destructive habits. It also ensures that your pet is well-socialized, making them a joy to be around in various situations. Access to training resources equips pet owners with the knowledge and skills needed to guide their pets effectively, leading to happier, well-adjusted animals. Ultimately, training is not just about obedience; it's about enriching the lives of pets and their owners and creating a harmonious home environment.

Responsible Pet Ownership

Being a responsible pet owner means providing a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for your animal. This includes regular veterinary care, proper nutrition, socialization, and training. Responsible ownership helps ensure the well-being of pets and fosters a positive relationship between pets and their owners. It also reduces the likelihood of pets being abandoned or surrendered to shelters. By promoting responsible pet ownership, we can cultivate a community that values and respects the lives of animals, leading to a more compassionate and caring society.

Helping Community Dogs

We recognize that sometimes even the most responsible pet owners can face challenges. If you have a dog who is going through a tough time—whether due to financial hardship, health issues, or other circumstances—we’re here to help. Our mission includes supporting community dogs in need, providing temporary assistance and education to ensure they remain in loving homes. If you or someone you know could benefit from our support, please reach out to us. We’re happy to discuss how we can help and work together to make a difference in the lives of these beloved pets. Dogs in the shelter are not the only dogs in need.

By prioritizing spaying and neutering, responsible pet ownership, training, and community support, we can work together to improve the lives of animals in our community and create a brighter future for all pets.
