BECOME A FOSTER.

At Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue, our foster program is vital to our mission of saving and rehoming animals in need. As a foster-based rescue, we rely on compassionate individuals to provide temporary homes, care, and love to our rescued animals until they find their forever families.

Fostering with Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals in need. As a foster, you provide temporary care in a safe environment while these animals await adoption, with stays ranging from a few days to several months. We take care of all veterinary expenses and supply essential items such as food and bedding, while also offering guidance on care and training.

By fostering, you play a crucial role in saving lives and helping animals transition to loving homes, all while enjoying the companionship of a pet without a long-term commitment. You'll gain valuable experience in training and caring for animals, which can benefit your own pets, and you'll connect with like-minded individuals, contributing to your local community.

The responsibilities of fostering include providing basic care, ensuring the animal’s safety, transporting them to vet appointments and adoption events, and communicating regularly with our team about the animal’s progress. We provide comprehensive veterinary care, essential supplies, and ongoing support to help you through any challenges.

To foster, you must be at least 21 years old and reside near Charlotte, NC, or Lake Norman, have a stable living environment with landlord approval if renting, possess reliable transportation, and commit to fostering until the animal is adopted, barring extenuating circumstances. Join us in making a difference—your love and dedication can change lives and help animals find their forever homes. Thank you for considering fostering with us!
